A year and a half ago we started a website called Unsplash.
Frustrated by expensive, poor quality photography options, our plan was to give away 10 free, hi-resolution photos every 10 days that you could do whatever you want with. Since then, Unsplash has grown into a community of over 100,000 members with over 165 million photos viewed every month.
Apart from the beautiful photos that make Unsplash what it is, one of the best things is seeing how the photos inspire different forms of creativity.
We often see Unsplash photos give life to other works of art, like a product design or a print illustration. Some of this work is featured on the Made With Unsplash showcase.
Recently, we’ve seen more and more Unsplash photos accompany longform stories. When I read many of these stories, they provide the depth, detail, and unique perspective to make me think differently.
This is what today’s update is about.
Starting today, we’ll be looking to feature some of these stories on the Crew blog and Made With Unsplash collection. Whether it’s through photography, design, or story, we want to help spread your work and inspire others to create.
The first featured Unsplash Story is called “How quitting my corporate job for my startup dream f*cked my life up” by Ali Mese. The story is accompanied by Unsplash photos by Jacob Walti, Joshua Earle. It’s a raw look inside Ali’s experience leaving his job to go after building his dream company.
Feature your Unsplash Story
If you use an Unsplash photo to accompany one of your stories, we’d love to see it. We’re looking for stories with a raw, personal voice. A story behind a unique experience you’ve seen firsthand that may inspire others.
